El 18 de marzo de 2023, a las 12:12:52 horas, se registró movimiento sísmico de magnitud 6.7, con una profundidad de 78 Km, coordenadas: latitud – 2.81, longitud – 79.95, intensidad IV -Zarumilla, con referencia 85 km al NE de Zarumilla, Zarumilla – Tumbes.
